Custom ear plugs are now used by workers in all types of fields — machinists, lawn workers, forklift operators, etc. as well as people in all walks of life — garage mechanics, domestic engineers, food industry, etc. to help abate noisy environmental working or playing conditions. Our custom ear plugs are designed for workers exposed to unsafe noise levels on-the-job. Since each ear plug is made for each ear and each individual, it is comfortable to wear for long periods of time without discomfort. Our custom ear plugs are manufactured using medical grade 6 hypo allergenic silicone. The plugs can be filtered to facilitate communication based on exposure levels, allowing the employee to communicate without having to remove the ear plugs. These models are very popular in the food industry where they can be equip with metal detectable cords and inserts. Limiting the removal and re-insertion of the ear plug reduces the risk of contamination and the improper use/wearing of ear plugs in general. They can also be hooked up to two radio units depending upon the make and model. All ear impressions are digitally scanned and filed for life. One ear impression is all you will ever need for a perfect fit.



Full Block

Full Block (solid body): This model is ideal for those employee(s) based in loud environments with high impact noise.  The Full Block model custom plug reduces sound pressure levels by 10-45dB across the entire frequency spectrum at the ear. For example, levels are reduced by 29dB at 125hZ, 45dB at 4kHz and 44dB at 8 kHz.  We are also able to fit check this product and provide the end user with documentation stating training methods and achieved PAR (personal attenuation rating). The PAR value is seen as the NRR (noise reduction rating) which is specific to each individual tested with a singular specific ear plug type/model. No need to guess how much protection your employee is receiving

Multi Block

 

Multi Block (filtered): Recommended for the employee(s) that find communication on the floor essential. Very popular choice for Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving and Office staff. We will help you choose the proper filter that best supports your working environment based on exposure levels or TWA’s (time weighted averages). Our filters are metal cased Knowles dampers that range in attenuation from 12/15/18/21 NRR. More attenuation is provided on the higher end frequencies (where needed) and less on the lower end speech frequencies (not as much required in most industrial environments) to facilitate communication and eliminate the need to remove the ear plugs to communicate. Over protection can also result in unnecessary attenuation that can make the worker unsafe ( not hearing warning signals, emergency signals, inter com, etc).

 

We also provide a “lock Peg” which is manufactured specifically for our filtered products. It snuggly fits over top of the filter to block the sound bore when more protection is required,  thus increasing the attenuation similar to the Full Block model. This is a ideal for those employee who may experience louder environments throughout the course of the work day and require more protection. For example, an employee may spend some time in the tool room using a loud saw, etc. Simply insert the peg over top the filter (this is instructed during the fitting process) and the NRR has now increased to that of the full block model or a 29 NRR. When the employee returns to their normal work environment which does not require as much attenuation, simply remove the peg and keep in the carry case provided. This is a great option that makes the filtered plugs “Multi Functional”!

 

Hear-Defender Filters

The New Hear Defender filters offer increased attenuation with increased sound pressure. When things get noisey, you get more protection automatically! These are great for the employee that experiences fluctuating noise levels and high impact sound pressure but still require essential communication.

Comm Unit with PTT Noise Cancelling Mic

 

 

 

We can also fit most Two Way Radio units with our PTT (push to talk) noise cancelling microphoned ear kits for clear communication. Simply hook the clear tube into the sound bore of the filtered or convertable plug. This is popular for Maintenance and Shipping/Receiving employees who need to use their radios in loud environments.
